- Declutter: clear magazines, books, and small appliances; clean and organize inside cabinets
- Patch and paint where needed; keep walls neutral
- Rearrange or remove furniture to maximize the space in each room
- Add warmth with throw pillows, folded blankets, and plants
- Lamps on in dark rooms; replace dull or burned-out bulbs
Outside
- Store building materials, garden equipment, and tools out of sight
- Check gutters, clean or repair as needed
- Refresh landscaping and mow
- Patio and decks cleared of all small items
- Power-wash siding, brick, and stone where needed
